GRAND CANYON AS A LIFE COACH: #2 THE GIVE AND TAKE

The Grand Canyon gives nothing so easily. Some could tell you that it has taken too much. In this land of extremes, one MUST learn the grace of balance, perseverance, and patience.
The draw of this place, the Canyon ...

With and Within

There’s something about this place, the Grand Canyon. It’s in extremes, and you love it or you don’t. You never hear oh yeah, that place is OK. That’s because the people who love Grand Canyon see a little more inside. Something that pulls at them ...

Good Advice

As I prepare for my next Trek and a new route in Grand Canyon I remember the Tomasis words of advice~

Use the following incomplete list to intuitively justify aborting the trip to the obscure route or summit(s) of the day:

Grand Canyoneering: Getting in Deep

Grand Canyoneering: stretching the mind, testing capabilities. Turning the key, dropping in and unlocking secrets, hidden treasures folded into the cracks. Feels so good, to get ever deeper into the Grand Canyon. Truly, a place that one can never outgrow, or see all of. But I’ll keep trying.

colorado river calling

Clear like a bell, the rumble of whitewater in Grand Canyon is beckoning. How I long to dip an oar in it’s cool waters, feel the spray of a wave in my face, and wake up day after day in the most magnificent place on earth.

Swirling Storms and Dancing Light

11 days of magic in the Grand Canyon, recon on West Rim, and hiking cross canyon. Feeling the trail, sensing the geology, and tasting my sweat has never been so good. Although not necessarily depicted here, I had these wonderful human connections throughout my trip, staying at the bunkhouses and ...
